Last Tribute of Respect by Mort Kunstler
Last Tribute of Respect, Jackson’s Funersl, VMI, May 15, 1863 by Mort Kunstler is a limited edition lithograph image size 29″ x 17″ limited to 350 s/n prints. After being accidentally wounded by friendly fire during the Battle of Chancellorsville, “Stonewall” Jackson sturggled for 8 days after an amputation, before finally succumbing to pneumonia on May 10, 1863. The artist has depicted the caisson adorned with mourning plumes and drawn by four horses. An honor guard comprised of VMI cadets acted as escorts. Various dignitaries and Mrs. Jackson are depicted in the art.
